I have had the opportunity to look at many images submitted to the two galleries I curate over the past years. Images that speak from the photographer’s inner soul are always the most memorable. As you look through the gallery of images on Roger’s web site, which is very well done, you begin to feel as though you know Roger.
The eyes of the horse are starring right at you and the cat invites you to come play. The warm library room at Grey Towers is cozy and feels like home. The bridge invites you to walk across and the diner welcomes you to come in and have dinner.
What photography does is allow you to read into the image your own interpretation and this is done best when the photographer expresses something he or she personally feels. Then allowing you to place your interpretation from your own perspective, you to take away with you, a memory of these images.
Roger Gottlieb accomplishes this difficult feat.

Had the opportunity to spend some time on your site this morning. You have terrific post processing skills and a wonderful eye for beauty and form. I was most impressed and hope to revisit frequently as you add new work. Thanks for the email with the links to the backgrounds.

It was nice meeting you yesterday at Gallery 14. Your photographs are very impressive and I am proud to have one of mine hanging next to your photo of a homeless woman.I think your web site is great, very clean! Your subtle use of color has an emotional resonance that I like very much, and your use of leading lines in many of your compositions is very effective.

Hey Roger! These photos are fantastic! I am sure these little thumbnails do not do them justice. I really like the one taken of the river with the sky and clouds. Reminds me of the rivers I used to visit when I was a kid. - Matt
Hi Roger. I was so happy to see you again. I am so glad I had the opportunity to tell you in person how fantastic, beautiful, mesmerizing, (I could go on here for quite awhile!) your photographs are. When I first saw them at the art gallery, I was amazed to see your name beneath them. (After all, we are talking about the next door neighbor who used to try to blow curlers off my head with a garden hose!)
I am sitting here reading the National Geographic and thinking how your photos should be in it.
We have to keep in touch and touch base again soon.
