They say everything that lives comes from the waters. We ourselves are 85 percent of the stuff. Roger McGuinn wrote " the river flows, it flows to the sea, where ever that river flows, thats where I want to be.. flow river flow, let your waters wash down, take me from this road, to some other town".
Growing up just a stones throw from the Delaware River in Port Jervis, the rhythms of that effluvial presence are embedded in my memory and left their imprint in many subtle ways. Light playing laughingly upon the eddies, shadows etching mystery across the currents, seasons proclaiming their proud or humble finery urging a new look at an ancient scene.
The zen master says, you cannot enter the same river twice - perennial becoming, eternal change, impermanence abides. I hope my images inspire your own reflection on this most elemental source of all life and connect you with your own memories. May they be happy ones!
